A Letter From the Pastor Regarding 20-21 Religious Education

Early Childhood

Due to COVID-19, we have decided it is best to cancel this program for the 2020-2021. We look forward to offering it again next year!
The Early Childhood Religious Education program begins in September and is offered during the 11 a.m. Mass on most Sundays throughout the school year. For children 3, 4, and 5-years-old, this program offers faith formation at a level appropriate to their age. The children learn bible stories, prayers, sing Christian songs, and hear about various saints as their feast days are celebrated. Not only does this program help develop a child’s faith, but it also helps parents participate more fully in the Mass while the children are in session. Classes are held in the school. To register, please contact the Youth Formation Office.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Due to COVID-19, we have decided it is best to cancel this program for the 2020-2021. We look forward to offering it again next year!
Beginning in early September and continuing throughout the school year, (except Christmas and Easter), St. Joseph Parish offers a children’s Liturgy of the Word during the 11 a.m. mass. It is for children in first through fourth grades. Shortly after Liturgy begins, the children are invited to a classroom for Scripture reading that is tailored to their own level of understanding. Through appropriately adapted Scripture texts, music, prayer and activities, the children can experience a deeper understanding and participation in the liturgy. No registration is necessary.

Religious Education
The St. Joseph Youth Catechesis program for children in public schools entering first through eighth grades. Due to COVID-19, this years classes will be taught at home with an option of hard copies or digital format. Our program is a blend from Loyola Press, Life Teen, the Augustine Institute, as well as other Catholic Resources, which focus on feasts, seasons, and our Catholic heritage. Our goal is for the children of our Parish to deepen their personal relationship with our Lord while learning about God, Scripture, sacraments, liturgy, their Catholic faith while growing in community with those around them.
