WELCOME FR. JOSEPH!
My Dear Friends in Christ,
I am Fr. Joseph Thundiyoozhathil Varghese from the state of Kerala in the southern part of India. Kerala is known as God's Own Country. It is so because it is the most beautiful strip of land on the eastern coast of Arebian sea.
I belong to the Pathanamthitta Diocese of Syro Malankara Syrian Catholic Church. St Thomas the Apostle of Jesus Christ came to Kerala in AD 52, and that was the origin of Christanity in India.
I was ordained as a priest by Cardinal Baselios Cleemis Catholicos on March 21, 2009. So far I have had the opportunity to render my pastoral services to six different parishes in my diocese. During my last tenure I was pastor of a church, manager of a school, and director of an old-age home. I have three elder sisters and an elder brother. My father is 75 years old he has retired from Indian army service. My mother left us for her heavenly abode 9 years ago.
I thank all the parishioners for your love and affection you have shown me. I offer my prayers and services to all of you under the mighty leadership of Fr.Eric, who has been kind enough to train me and guide me in the spiritual activities of the church.
May God Almighty bless you all. - Fr. Joseph
