About St. Joseph’s

St. Joseph Parish was established in 1841 and is located in Maumee, Ohio, a suburb of Toledo. The parish overlooks the Maumee river, which is noted for its excellent fishing, especially during the spring runs of white bass and pickerel that come in from nearby Lake Erie.

The parish complex is more than a square block, bordering both sides of West Broadway St., going west from Conant to Allen St., south to W. Harrison Ave., and east to Conant St., and north back to W. Broadway St. The church, parish offices, school, and community center are located on this site with parking facilities.

The parish also has a cemetery located on W. Wayne St. beside Side Cut Metro Park. Currently, St. Joseph Parish is made up of approximately 2,500 families living in a geographic area that contains urban, suburban, and rural communities including Maumee, Monclova, Waterville, Whitehouse, Perrysburg and Toledo.. St. Joseph School, started in 1855, has an enrollment of 265 students in Preschool – 8 grade. St. Joseph Parish has many active members, participating more than 50 organizations, councils, and committees that assist in the on-going operation of the parish and in planning for the future.

We invite you to become part of the Maumee St. Joseph Catholic Parish family.
