Mrs. Stookey's Biography

Mrs. Stookey grew up in Toledo, where she attended Bowsher High School and the University of Toledo.  She received a BBA with a major in Accounting in 1990 and Masters of Education in Elementary and Early Childhood Education in 2003.  Mrs. Stookey worked as a certified public accountant for twelve years before beginning her teaching career at St. Joseph four years ago.

Mrs. Stookey started her teaching career in the Kindergarten classroom at St. Joseph, then moved to third grade and then to fourth grade.  Her favorite part of teaching is seeing how much the kids have grown at the end of the year.  “The kids grow so much in such a short time.”  She also loves listening to the kids sing at mass.

Mrs. Stookey has been married for fifteen years and has two daughters.  Her daughters, Christine and Amanda are in sixth grade and fourth grade at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns.  Her husband Gary, works for the City of Toledo as a Professional Engineer.
