Mrs. Williams' Biography Mrs. Jane Williams grew up in Genoa, Ohio on a large productive farm. She attended Genoa High School where she was involved in the newspaper, basketball, volleyball, track, served as a class officer, was in the National Honor Society, drama club (plays and musicals), and 4H. She attended Bowling Green State University and earned a Bachelor of Education degree where she took part in a sorority, class officer, homecoming attendant, volleyball, and basketball. She has since earned 66 hours of graduate credits at BGSU and at Drake University. Mrs. Williams began teaching in 1971. Her first four years were spent in Bowling Green teaching fourth grade. After completing her family leave of absence she subbed in Maumee and Genoa, continued teaching Science to 7th and 8th graders, third grade, and finally 5th grade at St. Joe’s. She has completed 31 years of teaching and loves to work with children of any age including both teaching and directing over 50 stage productions. While growing up, Mrs. Williams worked on the farm, at a local Dairy Queen, babysat, sang at weddings, in the Personnel Department at Oldberg Manufacturing Company, as a teacher-assistant for summer school, selling Avon, and won many horse shows. If Mrs. Williams was not a teacher, she said she could easily see herself as an artist or opening a business of her own having to do with something creative. Another possibility she said would be directing musicals or plays. Mrs. Williams has been married for 35 years to Larry who is also an educator. Her three children are all married, have graduated from college and live active lives as a teacher, architect, and a tool and die maker. Mrs. Williams’ greatest joys are her four grandchildren (with one on the way) and vacationing with her entire family. Mrs. Williams' Favorites
